One hit wonders? Not in Japan. This isn’t our favorite Strawberry Switchblade number (that would be the Velvet Underground cover on the B-side), but the video is fun and was directed by Tim Pope, who directed a bunch of the Cure’s best-known videos. Strawberry Switchblade were managed by two Liverpudlians, former members of The Teardrop Explodes. But they were a Scottish act, emerging from the same Glasgow milieu as the Orange Juice.

Rhiiiiiiii…we have to go as them for Halloween. BIG TONY said so.
